lbmpy.lattice.GridAlignedHBB#

class GridAlignedHBB(lattice, wall_orientation, *, name=None)#

Zero-velocity halfway bounce-back boundary condition.

Implements the resting-wall version of the standard halfway bounce-back boundary condition (see [KrugerKK+17], section 5.3.3.3) with a fixed wall normal:

\[f_{\bar{i}} (\boldsymbol{x}, t) = f^{\ast}_{i} (\boldsymbol{x}, t - 1).\]

Note

This boundary condition graph is useful mostly for grid-aligned walls, e.g. at the edges of a channel. For obstacles with more irregular geometry, use a sparse linkwise boundary operator instead.

Usage Evaluate this graph on the outermost layer of fluid sites touching a wall or obstacle oriented according to wall_orientation, after advancement but before the next collision step.

Parameters:
  • lattice (Lattice) – Lattice to which to apply the boundary condition

  • wall_orientation (tuple[int, ...]) – Normal vector pointing from the fluid to the wall

  • name (str | None) – Name of this flowgraph
